Limitations:
The humoral immune response to Streptococcus pneumoniae is affected by multiple factors, including age, immune status, vaccination history, prior infections, and carrier status.
Protective concentrations of IgG antibodies, or those required to prevent infection from Streptococcus pneumoniae, have not been defined for any serotype.
Methodology:
Bead-Based Multiplex Immunoassay
Test Classification:
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Mayo Clinic in a manner consistent with CLIA requirements. This test has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
